I have been using Blindshell2 for a year and a half, and I love it. I use it for calling, texting, email, zoom, internet including my banking my reading and facebook, I use it to make notes to myself, I just use it for just about everything, and it is so reliable and works so well. I am so happy with this phone, and I try to share it with others as much as I can.
I bought my BlindShell Classic 2 in July 2022. I was using an iPhone SE 3rd gen. As much as I like having a physical keypad, I do not like that I cannot go to a mainstream app store, so if Apple ever releases another generation of the iPhone SE, I will be going back to Apple and being able to access their entire app store for accessible apps.
Rumor has it that Apple will be releasing another generation of the SE next spring. I cannot wait!
I’ve been using the BSC2 since FRIDAY, MAR. 3 of last year, even though this CURRENT phone’s my SECOND, since the FIRST one broke, and BOTH of which were given to me, and I hope THIS one lasts MY LIFETIME, PREFERABLY.
Hi all,
So lovely to be here.
My BlindShell Classic 2 mobile was a gift on my 20th birthday two years ago, which, by the way, I bought for myself.
I was looking for a talking mobile phone that I could use, which wouldn’t have a touchscreen. My problem is that I am blind and very tactile, so verbal cues alone don’t give me much of an idea what I’m doing. For this reason, I called RNIB’s tech for life team, who helped me to look through various options. The best option we discovered was BlindShell Classic Two, which is what I went for.
I constantly recommend Blindshell to others, which often drives people mad and many think I am in their team and therefore always speak for them, but the reality is this: I think this mobile phone is the easiest to use for a blind person and is also very tactile and does not require the use of a solid piece of glass in front of you.
Of course, whoever is happy using touchscreens and have gotten used to them, I’m happy for them. As for BlindShell users, I’m glad there’s almost a family of us here and I’m certainly not alone.
Peace to all,
Ana
