Have you had MMS incompatibility bite you?

Hello everyone,
I don’t know if you’ve noticed but you probably have, the BSC2 cannot use MMS. Now, sending pictures to people isn’t really a problem, the programmers provided a mechanism to do that, plus you could just use email. But, have you ever had someone try to send you a picture through MMS? Do you know what happens? Well, I’ll tell you. Absolutely NOTHING! Worse yet, the person who sent it to you thinks you received it because their device will indicate as such. So, if someone tries to send you a picture or adds a picture to a message they’re sending you, you won’t receive it but they’ll think you did. I’m sure you can see how that would cause problems. I honestly don’t know how this is acceptable considering every phone made in the past 20 years or so can do MMS and I’m sure the hardware is capable of doing it. So, I was curious if anyone has had problems with this?

I have. Last year and earlier this year my mom was having some medical problems that required hospitalization and a couple of stays in a rehab facility. To keep everyone in the family in the loop, they were keeping everyone up to date using a text message conversation with multiple recipients, which requires MMS, so I was not getting any of the messages about mom’s problems. I finally found out several months later what was happening when my sister asked me about what my thoughts were about mom’s problems and I had to tell her I didn’t know what she was talking about.

Talk about being pissed off. Had I known ahead of time that the BlindShell was more crippled than most flip or feature phones, I never would have bought one. I’d have kept the iPhone SE 3rd gen. I was using at the time. It is for this reason as well as BlindShell’s poor performance in several other areas, as well as the outright deception of their beepers, that if Apple ever releases another generation of the iPhone SE, I will be going back to an iPhone.

I can use touch screens with no problems, but I do prefer a physical keypad if I can get it but not at the cost of features BlindShell assumes that nobody needs and that every other cell phone on the market has had for over ten years. . And they call their phone cutting edge technology, the only thing cutting edge about BlindShell phones is the cutting edge they used to chop off all the essential features they decided not to include.

hi. last week i asked my brother for a friends number. he sent it to me. sent a message to a friend. sent me back the message, with no phone number. then sent me a mms and got an error says could not receive. turn on mobile data which i didd. the message dissappeared. so had to exmplain to my sighted friend i dont have this capability. dominica please put this feature back into the phone. as we have larger data caps and the reason why the lbind shell 1 this feature was taken out because of high data charges. please put this back in. now my friend ronda from queensland, her family does not use whatsap or facebook and only mms. so she misses out on videos and photos from her family. well are we a second class people as dont have this feature. if blind shell is going to be this pig headed about this and not listen to us. a no brainer. every other phone in the last 10 years, even when i phone 3 with voice over came out in 2008 or 2009, it had mms messaging. also got a bee in my bonnet about another feature. no way to import bookmarks from a browser. please put this in. also a way to then select the messages in the in box for email and then delete without having to open, select all messages in sent and then delete and also for important. only why is the delete all only in the trash not good enough. and also have third party app developers to open up the platform so more apps could be developed quickly as a small team there. so if you are not going to keep up with current technology. why are we using android 8 or 9, when 15 is the current version. come on blind shell pull your socks up and or else the phone will be obsolete in the future and if you are just going to ignore the blind users, as dont have any other choice. cannot use a touch screen nnow having to carry around a extra keyboard with me. so there is no other choice for a talking phone with physical buttons. you have the monopoly on this. so if you are going to treat us like rubbish, then next phone maybe just boycott and say stuff blind shell and then tell all my friends dont buy one, they dont listen to their customers. frustrated rant over. marvin from seaford rise, south australia, australia.

ABSOLUTELY. There’s NO EXCUSE, WHATSOEVER, that our BSC2’S don’t support MMS, which they SHOULD. Of COURSE, there are OTHERS that oughta be supported, TOO, that aren’t.

The OTHER apps that we DON’T have that we SHOULD, are: “CLUBHOUSE,” “GOOGLE CHAT,” “TICKTOCK,” and I can’t think of ANYTHING ELSE, but OVERALL, if “BLINDSHELL” expects to be a THRIVINGLY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS, ESPECIALLY amongst those of us within the global blind community, the developers MUST “STEP IT UP,” if you will. SERIOUSLY!

hi. yes and no religious apps. one of jehovahs witnesses and would like the jw library and the nw publisher app. did have the nw publisher app for sub system for android on windows 11. but not a good experience. had to turn on the android screen reader and some parts not working. so uninstalled it. also abc listen, afl and nrl and also the 5aa and listener app. so yes need to keep up. also dropbox google drive, one drive and also jaws for android on the blind shell would be awesome. going to raise this on the shell sunday show on monday.

It is now possible to send and receive group messages. Go to messages, then to settings, then to multiple recipients and change setting to send a single message to multiple recipients. It is the first option. Once this setting is changed, it will then be possible to do group messages both send and receive.

Maybe so Richiev, I haven’t actually checked that. Even if true, if a setting is stopping someone from receiving certain messages that is just stupid. Also, I’m not sure that does anything about the picture message problem.

that setting is there so the people have the option of either doing group messages or single messages. it does not fix the picture problem.
